On Living Wage:  “I am against waivers to the City’s Living Wage Ordinance, and would also like to see the definition of a “living wage” in our ordinance changed to $15 an hour with adjustment for inflation each year.  This would be higher than the current guidelines that call for a wage that is either 130% or 110% of the Federal Poverty guidelines (roughly $14 and $12 an hour).  I am also supportive of raising the minimum wage in St. Paul to $15/hour.”

On Paid Leave:  “I have been a proponent of a sick and safe time ordinance throughout my campaign and was the only candidate to mention the issue in my speech at the DFL endorsing convention in February.  I am lucky that my current job allowed me to take generous maternity leave (twice) and provides me with paid time off to take care of myself and my family.  I believe our city should stand up for the principle that these family-friendly policies are a right of all workers.”
